INSTRUCTORS FOR SUMMER READING PROGRAM
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission for the State of New Mexico is seeking qualified individuals to serve as instructors for the Summer Reading Program.
Background
The MLK Jr. Commission will be a site location for the 2026 Summer Reading Program coordinated by the New Mexico Public Education Department. We will serve 40 students at the African American Performing Arts Center June 1 – July 31 from 8AM to 3PM.
Instructors are paid $35.00 an hour and must be available for the full program.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- 18+ years of age
- 1+ years of experience teaching, tutoring, or other full-time work in a youth-focused position (may include volunteer work).
- All candidates must pass a rigorous pre-employment screening and background check process.
- An intermediate command of various technologies and data entry, including the use of email, spreadsheets, and videoconferencing technology.
- A laptop computer with a functioning camera, microphone, and a stable internet connection.
